Dr Horst Poosch is responsible at PANACEO for Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management with a focus on medical devices. This includes regulatory documentation, communication with the authorities, the quality management system, regulatory support of product development, and competition law matters. For food supplements and cosmetic products, he is responsible for regulatory and legal matters.
As PRRC – Person Responsible for Regulatory Compliance – he fulfils the function required by the EU Medical Devices Regulation (MDR). The MDR requires each manufacturer to have at least one person with proven expertise who is responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Since 2014, Horst Poosch has been a generally sworn and court-certified expert in quality management and medical devices. He studied Applied Business Administration at the University of Klagenfurt, graduating with a Diplom degree in 2000 and a doctorate in 2007 with distinction, and completed the first stage of the law programme at Johannes Kepler University Linz.
Committees and professional associations
At IGEPHA, the Austrian association of the self-medication industry, he chairs the Working Group on Medical Devices. In the European umbrella organisation AESGP, he is a member of the Medical Device Committee. In the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, he is chair of the specialist group for the photo, optics and medical devices trade in Carinthia, as well as a member of the federal specialist group and the regional committee for the trade in medicinal products, toiletries and perfumery goods.
Within IGEPHA and AESGP, he regularly contributes to regulatory discussions and guidelines on medical devices.
Involvement in studies
