Head of Research & Development
Responsible for research and development at PANACEO since 2025. PhD biotechnologist with previous work as a Senior Scientist at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, and in pharmaceutical quality control.
DI Dr. Katrin Greimel heads Research and Development at PANACEO. This includes the planning, coordination and specialist oversight of research projects and studies, as well as the provision and assessment of scientific data for the technical documentation of the medical devices.
She handles product-related customer enquiries and feedback from a technical and scientific perspective. As part of post-market surveillance, she analyses and evaluates customer feedback and clinical data – as well as the scientific literature on clinoptilolite and related materials.
Qualifications
In 2009, Katrin Greimel completed a Diplom degree in Technical Chemistry with specialisations in biotechnology and bio- and food chemistry at the Graz University of Technology . In 2013, she completed her doctoral studies at the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. Her dissertation dealt with the enzymatic crosslinking and hydrolysis of polyesters.
Professional career
Before joining PANACEO, Katrin Greimel was deputy head of the quality control laboratory at Perrigo Company, having previously worked there in quality control. Before that, she worked as a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, and at the Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB).
