What Is Zeolite – and What Can It Do?
The term zeolite comes from Greek and is made up of the words for "boiling" and "stone". Natural clinoptilolite zeolite is particularly notable for its thermal stability and its special pre-loading with at least 34 important minerals. It is a negatively charged ion exchanger, crisscrossed by tiny channels and preloaded with minerals and trace elements (such as magnesium, calcium or potassium) that can undergo ion exchange.
In doing so, the zeolite only takes up substances that have the correct size and charge (positively charged particles) and for which clinoptilolite has a high affinity. In particular, toxic substances such as lead, cadmium, arsenic, chromium, nickel and ammonium can be trapped in the zeolite cage. Typical vital substances such as nutrients and vitamins are too large and bounce off the cage. The zeolite has already saturated itself with the appropriate minerals (magnesium, potassium, sodium, calcium) back in the primordial sea – and PMA-Zeolite even releases these beneficial cations again in exchange for the toxic ones. Loaded with the toxins, the zeolite cage is then naturally excreted from the body again.
