World Market Leader PANACEO Celebrates 20 Years of Zeolite Research
Anyone who suffers from irritable bowel syndrome or leaky gut syndrome today, who wants to cleanse and detoxify the gut and liver, or who is generally interested in supporting gut health in a gentle, natural way, has surely heard of the volcanic rock zeolite. And the term zeolite always leads to the so-called “PMA-Zeolite®” – and therefore to PANACEO.
This is no coincidence: PMA-Zeolite® stands for a special form of the natural mineral clinoptilolite zeolite, which the Carinthian company PANACEO International GmbH has been researching extensively for decades and refining with a patented process – the “PMA – PANACEO Micro Activation” – so that it can be of maximum benefit to people and their health. From a Vision to World Market Leader in Zeolite
When the visionary Villach industrialist Jakob Hraschan first came across clinoptilolite zeolite at the end of the 1990s, he was fascinated. Could this millions-of-years-old mineral really have a positive effect on our gut and thus our health? After thorough research, Hraschan discovered that although many testimonials existed dating back to ancient times, there was a lack of scientific research. A hidden treasure of nature was waiting to be rediscovered.
For the passionate entrepreneur and philanthropist, this marked the beginning of a new mission. In 2004, he founded PANACEO International GmbH together with Dipl.-Ing. Dieter Maurer and Dr. Horst Poosch. The name PANACEO, derived from the mythological goddess Panacea, “the goddess of healing”, was a statement of intent. Thanks to the commitment of Hraschan and his team, which today numbers 35 people, PMA-Zeolite® was approved as a medical device. Numerous international patents and more than three million products sold worldwide bear witness to the effectiveness and popularity of this natural remedy.

At the press conference, the focus was not on the pure business balance sheet, but on people’s well-being and the vision of developing natural health products based on scientific research. The event became a warm gathering, marked by enthusiasm and gratitude.

World-Class Athletes and Renowned Politicians Congratulated PANACEO
Numerous long-standing companions and enthusiastic PMA-Zeolite users congratulated the team. Among them were skiing legend Franz Klammer, former professional cyclist Paco Wrolich and ski-jumping authority Prof. Baldur Preiml, as well as prominent figures such as member of parliament Peter Weidinger, regional minister Mag. iur. Sebastian Schuschnig and Jürgen Mandl, MBA, President of the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce.
The employees were also at the centre of the recognition: their dedication and conviction have made PANACEO what it is today – a model company that shows what can be achieved through shared conviction and love for a project.

The power of PANACEO’s zeolite was impressively demonstrated by Ilse Triebnig, MD. The physician, who was involved in research from the very beginning and has since treated around 3,000 patients with PMA-Zeolite – either on its own or as an add-on, and without side effects – made a strong case for PANACEO’s refined volcanic rock:
